One Big Dream For the Future

The future is still far away but for this primary school student it's closer than you think. Tessa is a pupil at Koputaroa School, a little country school on your way to Foxton. She has got her whole future planned out. She would like to pursue a career in Architecture but if that doesn't work out she would like to become an Author. She wants to go to Wellington University to study. Before she begins to practice as an Architect  she has a dream of travelling the world with her best friend Leah. They will start by exploring New Zealand then work their way around the world. She can't wait to see the scenes of Italy. She will be a part time artist and would like to share her art with the world. She dreams of being an inspirational person to those she meets. She wishes to inspire them to follow their dreams and work hard to achieve them. She dreams of having 2 - 4 children and having a nice husband who has a good job and who knows how to take good care of children. She would like to experience a world where most people are nice to each other and where we all just work together to make our world a better place. '' You see now with the government why don't they just work together to make our country better than it already is instead of fighting and making their people suffer for their consequences.'' she says. She is scared that she won't be able to experience the world because it might not be there when she goes to travel; she is scared that we will all go into war again and the treasures of the world will be ruined. It was great to meet such an enthusiastic young lady who has dreams, knows what she wants and how she intends to get them. Good luck Tessa I,m sure we will be hearing about you in the future.

Scientists Say 'Home Chores Are Good'

Just two days ago scientists reported that chores at home are good for you. If you do the bathroom you don't get worry lines and if you do the vacuuming you don't lose your hair. Scientists found this out when they talked to a 12 year old girl name Tessa who said '' Although my mum is old she has a full head of hair and no worry lines because she has been doing that vacuuming for 30 odd years, but my dad is the opposite, he has worry lines from here to China and only has half a head of hair, he does not do the vacuuming or the dishes.'' We asked Tessa what she feels about the chores in her house, she replied ''I don't feel at all sad about doing the chores because I think they just help you in so many ways. It also means that you can have your friends over and not have to worry if they can fit in your room. Chores are good if you just put some music on and you have fun with it.'' So to help your life a lot you should do your chores at least every week.

Rube Goldburg Machines

After viewing a number of Rube Goldberg machines on YouTube, our class has been challenged to make one that can smash an Easter egg.  Here are a few of our designs so far......

Our Visual Art: Sticks

Once again we have an opportunity to decorate pieces of driftwood that have been collected from one of our local beaches.  To start with we needed to undercoat the sticks with white paint before beginning to paint our designs on them.  We will keep you posted with more pictures during the painting process - but here are a few to show how we started......

Our final BP Challenge

Our final BP Challenge involved making a bridge that could support a 500g vehicle - the winning team needed to make the longest bridge that wouldn't sag once the vehicle was placed in the middle of it.  Extra points were given to the teams that created a replica bridge of any famous one throughout the world.
